Laser
The Laser 1 is a youth/adult class of boat. The Laser 1 combines a single hull with three different rigs:
The 4.7 is the smallest rig (sail and mast), and is suitable for sailors up to the weight of 35 to 55 kg.
The next size rig is called a Radial, suitable for sailors weighing between 55 and 70 kg. The Radial sail is a female Olympic class of boat.
The Laser Standard is the largest rig and has a minimum weight ratio of 60 kg. This is the male Olympic class of boat.

Welsh Yachting Association (WYA) provides a range of local events across North Wales, known as the Club Youth Race Circuit (CYRC) series. Don’t be fooled by the title, adults are encouraged to take part too! See here for more details.
